Welcome to my Blog!

I had  heard about this rock, and seen some of Christian's shots...so decided to get up really early and make it there for the sunrise. I actually arrived early, at about 6am...but that was fine as the moon was doing some crazy things through the clouds...so I was a long way from being bored. I decided to clamber down the rocks in the dark with the camera and the tripod over my shoulder (no injuries!) and set my self up for some shots.

I started shooting when it was really quite dark, and held the lense open for 25 seconds to capture the water effect, and to get enough light out of "the rock". The colour that came out of the water surprised me...full of greens and purples...

I think this is now my new favourite...

Hope you like them...

Cheers
Erin.

Hi Erin, The shot on the right is amazing...I love how you have captured the sky still, and yet the water kind of frozen and motion captured...and the light on "the Rock" is captivating. It is truly a surreal image. I love it!

Colin...
Thanks Colin...this image is a stitch of two shots...the first was held open for about 30 seconds to get the water image and the second was a quick exposure of about 1/8 of a second to capture the sky nice and still...they were then stitched together...I really like the effect and I'm glad you do to!...Cheers mate.

Hi..That really is a fantastic location...was that early morning or late afternoon?...amazing light and the glow through the clouds at the top is almost "heavenly". I definitly want one of these!!

Katie.
Thanks Katie, it was actually really early morning...the sun was quite a way from coming up, and it was freezing and starting to rain...but the result was definitely worth it. Cheers, Erin.
